Blood Donation Camp organized at Multani Mal Modi College

A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised at local M. M. Modi College, Patiala to spread the message of ‘Khoondaan-Mahadaan’ and to meet the emergency requirement and acute shortage of blood at Government Rajindra Medical College and Hospital Blood Bank, Patiala.

This camp was organized by the NSS, NCC units (Army and Air wings), BSG and Red Ribbon Club of the College under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal and was supervised by a medical team from Govt. Rajindra Medical College and Hospital, Patiala. The camp was inaugurated by college Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal. Addressing the blood donors, he said that these blood units are going to act as lifeline for many patients of dengue, other illnesses and accident victims. He appreciated the efforts of students and college staff for making this camp a success.

A team of doctors led by Dr. Japneet Kaur and Sh. Sukhvinder Singh (PRO) and their team members made meticulous arrangements for collecting donated blood. 60 units of blood were donated by the volunteers. 10 girl students and the teachers of the College Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dr Rajeev Sharma, Dr. Rupinder Singh Dhillon, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and Prof. Harpreet Singh also donated the blood.

NSS Programme Officer and Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club Dr. Rajeev Sharma, NSS Programme Officers Prof. (Mrs.) Jagdeep Kaur and Dr. Deepak Kumar and NCC Officers – Lt. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Lt. Dr. Nidhi Gupta and Flying Officer Dr. Sumeet Kumar put special efforts to make this camp a grand success. They motivated the students and said that donating blood is the noblest act of service to the humanity. The NSS volunteers Sayam Mittal, Kartik, Shubhangani, Somya and Deepanshu worked hard in motivating the volunteers for blood donation and to make this camp a success. Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Registrar Dr. Ashwani Kumar and organising members felicitated the volunteers with certificates and medals.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਖੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇ-ਨਜ਼ਰ ਅਤੇ ‘ਖੂਨਦਾਨ-ਮਹਾਂਦਾਨ’ ਦੇ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ, ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੰਗ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਉਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਇਡਸ ਅਤੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠ ਇੱਕ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਬਲੱਡ ਬੈਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਘੱਟ ਰਹੀ ਬਲੱਡ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਹਾਂ-ਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰਥਕਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਤੋਂ ਡਾ. ਜਪਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗੁਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਰੇਖ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ 60 ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਜ਼ ਨੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਵੱਡਮੁੱਲੀ ਦਾਨੀ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋ, ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ 10 ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿੱਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਲੈਫ਼ਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਫ਼ਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਨਿਧੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਉਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਇਡਸ ਦੇ ਰੋਵਰ ਸਕਾਉਟ ਲੀਡਰ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋ ਦਾ ਖਾਸ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰੀ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਲਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਵਾਇਆ। ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਸੰਯਮ ਮਿੱਤਲ, ਕਾਰਤਿਕ, ਸ਼ੁਭਾਂਗਿਨੀ, ਸੌਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਪਾਸ਼ੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੈ-ਇੱਛਕ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਡਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
